Medical Transcription Services per MTIA BMP - Medical Transcription Industry Association Billing Methods Principles - In active use by physicians across the USA.

Integrity in pricing and billing is the standard at Rocky Mountain Transcription.  We provide you with clear, concise invoices on a twice-monthly basis at a determined “per line” rate based on those services you require.

Line Count Definition

Line count is calculated by dividing the number of characters by 65.

What is a Character?

It is any typed letter, number, space, punctuation mark, apostrophe, quote, etc. Characters that you cannot see, but are generated by the transcriptionist (i.e., spaces or carriage returns) are represented internally in the text document and are counted.  Virtual word-wrapping returns that are generated by the word processing software are not counted.

Billing Method Principles

Rocky Mountain Transcription adheres to the Medical Transcription Industry Association (MTIA) Billing Method Principles as defined below:

Verifiability: A medical transcription billing method should be subject to verification, with such verification being available to parties to the transaction.

Definability: A medical transcription billing method should accurately define all measurements and be free from definitional ambiguity.

Measurability: A medical transcription billing method should allow for complete understanding of the formulas used in its calculation and result in a clear and concise invoice.

Consistency: A medical transcription billing method should be generally reliable and consistent in its application.

Integrity: A medical transcription billing method should be fair and honest, resulting in invoices that accurately reflect and charge for service rendered.
